- City leaders in Minneapolis are calling on the owner of the Backpage website to stop running its “adult services” section that police have linked to juvenile sex trafficking.
- o City Council members have passed a resolution demanding that Village Voice Media of New York take down the ads. Minneapolis police say that all 20 child sex-trafficking cases they’ve investigated this year involve juveniles prostituted on the Backpage website.
- Police arrested a man Thursday accused of prostituting two runaway girls he met in downtown Minneapolis last month. A criminal complaint says the man offered the teens, ages 15 and 17, as a “two girl special” on Backpage.
